Time Warner Cable, HBO Go to Hook Up ‘Very Soon’

One of the two major cable providers yet to add HBO Go to their service is nearing a deal with the network to add access to the app for subscribers.

Only Time Warner Cable and Cablevision don’t include HBO Go- a mobile and laptop version allowing access to movies and hit shows like True Blood and Boardwalk Empire– with HBO subscriptions, and the former is getting ready to ink a deal to add the functionality for customers. The cable provider and premium channel have been chatting each other up since May, and were reportedly nearing a deal in September.

Earlier this week, Time Warner Cable’s COO confirmed a deal was close, but did not elaborate:

In an interview at a conference in Barcelona organized by Morgan Stanley, Time Warner Cable COO Robert Marcus today wouldn’t say what is delaying an agreement. The company is confident that a deal will be reached “soon,” he said, adding that the two sides are still working through the details.

Comcast, DirecTV, Dish, Cox and FioS all include HBO Go for HBO subscribers.
