Ice Cream Sandwich’s face unlock security cracked by simple photo

One of the more interesting features that is coming with Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich, aka 4.0, release is the ability to you your face as the unlock mechanism for the main screen.

This is done using facial recognition software, which while being really cool is still in its infancy, and really questionable for using as a way to secure your phone especially since it appears that it can be broken fairly easily.

As you can see in the video below it is basically nothing more than using a photo of the person who owns the phone to unlock the screen.

Hopefully this is an easily fixed problem but until it is fixed you might want to think twice about using this as the only way to secure your phone.
